2012 Season - Week 17

Daz’s Double Delight

Not only did his beloved Washington Redskins win the NFC East for the first time since 1999 but Daz clinched since second Papas Fritas Trophy on Sunday. Congratulations to Daz as his Underachieving Bastards overachieved. Daz won the Premiership in 2005 behind Seattle RB Shaun Alexander’s 28TD season. This year he let Aaron Rodgers throw the ball as his blueprint for victory and Rodgers replied with a 130 point season. In-fact Rodgers has won the Papas Fritas three of the last four years, he was Johnnies Franchise QB in 2009 and 2010. Last year Rodgers won the Conference as Daz became the first owner since John Botten in 2005 and 2006 to win the Premiership immediately after winning the Conference. Outgoing Champion Chief tried to catch Daz in the final week of the year, putting up his fourth highest total ever, as he tried to defend his title. However his 58 point week (his league leading 13th visit to the Scoring Hall of Fame) only meant he finished second for the fourth time in five years. Daz finished with 584 points the equal third highest season total ever (tying Johnnie’s 2009 winners) while Chief’s 550 points is the ninth highest ever. Three of the top 10 season scores all time are Chief’s runner-up totals. Going Down AP also had a Scoring Hall of Fame week (his ninth) as his 50 point week kept him safely above the drop-zone. Craig came up just short as he needed four TDs in the final game (Washington v Dallas) from Alfred Morris and Miles Austin to survive and send Mark back down. Morris scored three times but Austin was injured early and then ineffective so Mark stayed up by five points and despite a 37 point final week Craig is relegated along with Marcus and Dave G. Conference, Champion still to be decided For the first time ever we finish the regular season with a tie for first place as Aaron and George both scored 462 points. They will be joined in the Premiership next year by Andy H but the Conference Champion won’t be known until after the Wildcard Round. Like our draft order tie-breaker used in previous years the player with the highest score in the Wildcard round will be crowned the 2012 Conference Champion. Biggest Season Scoring Ever Collectively we scored 503 points in week 17 the fifth highest total ever and the 10th highest average- 31.44 points per owner. And that was with 4 players on Injured Reserve. For the entire season we scored 7,367 points (154 more than our previous highest of 7,213 back in 2004) for an average of 460.4 points per owner which beats the previous high of 458.8 from our first year in 1995 when we only had 6 owners.
